Medical Examiner & Forensic Services

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services

Van Buren Youth Camp

Since 1950, Van Buren Youth Camp has helped kids and teens grow mentally, physically, and emotionally in a fun and welcoming environment. Located on the shores of Great Bear Lake, VBYC offers overnight summer camp experiences for ages 6 to 18. Campers make friends, build confidence, and develop leadership skills through games, songs, teamwork, and creative activities.

VBYC’s mission is to serve youth by providing opportunities for growth—and they live that mission every day through their core values: leadership, integrity, inclusion, and service, along with teamwork, camper-first thinking, responsibility, commitment, respect, and friendship. These values shape everything they do, from counselor training to daily camp activities.
