Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies received an alarm at 32100 66th Street, in Bangor Township. An off duty Canine Deputy, was returning home from training when he overheard a call for an alarm. The Canine Deputy, still in uniform and with his marked unit, responded to the call. On arrival, the canine deputy found forced entry to the home. When he called into the home advising that he was a Canine Deputy, one subject called out that he was giving up and exited the front of the home where he was taken into custody. A second subject remained in the home and decided to try his chances with hiding in the attic. The Canine Deputy successfully located the second subject in his hide. He was taken into custody and both were lodged at the Van Buren County Jail.
