Narrative:
Sheriff Daniel E Abbott reports that on 11/16/2023 at 1525hrs, Deputies along with Decatur Hamilton Fire Department responded to a structure fire at the above location. Deputies found that the house was empty and had been abandoned for several years. The structure and the wooded area around were burning heavily and causing a lot of smoke in the area. 42nd St was shut down for several hours while the fire departments worked to get it under control. Several small explosions happened during the fire. Multiple Fire Departments were called in for mutual aid. This is an ongoing fire investigation. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time
