Narrative:
Sheriff Daniel E Abbott reports that on 11/8/2023, Deputies were dispatched to 60th Ave East of County Road 681. Deputies arrived and found a 70-year-old female in the driver’s seat complaining of chest and ankle pain. Upon a closer look she was found to have a laceration on her ankle. During the investigation it was determined by deputies that the driver had fallen asleep and crossed the centerline before hitting a tree and coming to a stop. The driver was transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo by VBEMS. It is not believed that alcohol or drugs played a factor in this accident, but the investigation remains open.
