  • Uniform Response handled a multi vehicle crash on I94 highway. A vehicle hit a deer then stopped in the roadway. A second vehicle saw what took place and was stopping with the flashers on when a third vehicle rear ended them. What started with a car vs. deer turned into a three-car crash.  No serious injuries were reported. The highway did have to be shut down for a brief period. Just a reminder that if you hit a deer, never stop in the travel portion of the roadway.
  • Uniform Response for the month of October handled 1,457 total calls of service which includes traffic stops. For the year, they’ve had 11,246 calls for service. For the counties overall calls for service which includes all the fire departments, ems, law enforcement agencies, traffic stops, animal control, miscellaneous cads is at 62,620. Just for the month of October, it was 6,623. Dispatch consistently stays busy with calls coming in. In the month of October, dispatch handled 9,165 calls for service. Through the first ten months of the year, they are at 93,958.
  • Narcotic Detectives assisted a local police agency on a search warrant at a residence in which narcotic trafficking was taking place. The multiple subjects were arrested and charged for the incident.
  • Uniform Response went to a call in which the patient was at full arrest. Deputies used their AED and regained a pulse on the patient. The patient was transported to the hospital for further treatment. Great job on the lifesaving efforts.
  • Uniform Response assisted several fire departments this past week on structure fires. Just a friendly reminder to make sure things are away from space heaters, chimneys are cleaned, and extra precautions are taken with heaters, woodstoves, etc. Double check your smoke detectors/carbon monoxide detectors as well.
  • Car vs. deer crashes is on the rise this time of the year due to rut. We keep a list of people to call who wants a deer if it’s hit. If you are interested, call dispatch to add your name to the list.
  • Our office took a missing 3-year-old autistic nonverbal child call. The child wondered away from the residence and after the family couldn’t locate him, they called dispatch. After a lengthy search by law enforcement and the public, the child was located wet, cold, and safe. Our canine unit was utilized and done a great track job to the area the child was located in. Multiple resources were used with the result being the child was located and returned to the parents.
  • Uniform Response handled a call were an 84-year-male was trapped under a bulldozer. The man was rescued successfully and is currently recovering from his injuries. 
  • Uniform Response handled a crash involving a side by side rolling over approximately 400 yards off the roadway. A 5-year-old boy was trapped under the UTV. The deputy along with family and civilians were able to get the side by side off the child, ultimately getting him to an ambulance to be transported.
