Narrative:
Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that Deputies had to shut down a portion of County Road 378 between County Road 687 and 66th St to investigate a fatal traffic crash. Witnesses stated that the driver of a white 2000 Ford pick-up was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed, attempting to pass multiple motorists. While the passing the vehicles, another vehicle was heading eastbound while he was occupying their lane. This forced him to swerve when attempting to reenter his appropriate lane. Once he reentered his lane, he ran off the roadway and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle proceeded to go airborne before rolling multiple times striking a tree. The driver was ejected during the traffic crash and subsequently succumbed to his injuries and passed away on scene.
