Newest member of the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office
Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott is proud to announce the newest addition to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, K9 Jett. K9 Jett will be partnered with Deputy Devin Krogel. K9 Jett is a 14month half German Shepard and half Belgian Malinois.
K9 Jett received his name after Deputy James Allen Lear who tragically passed away December 10th, 2021. Deputy Lear earned the nickname of “Jett” as when there was a task to be completed, he would “Jet” out of the office without hesitation. Sheriff Abbott is proud to carry on Deputy Lear’s work ethic and dedication to public service through K9 Jett who will no doubt make the citizens of Van Buren County proud.
