The Board of Commissioners is the elected legislative body of the County. There are seven (7) members elected from districts of approximately the same population size. Following the decennial census, an apportionment commission meets and reapportions the County into districts of approximately the same size
Appointed by the Van Buren County Board of Commissioners, the Van Buren County Community Corrections Advisory Board (CCAB) is responsible for community corrections planning and policy-making with regards to the community corrections funding received from the Michigan Office of Community Corrections (MOCC).
