The Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team is used for debriefings during critical incidents throughout Van Buren County as well as aiding other neighboring counties. The team is utilized by police agencies, fire departments, and emergency medical services (EMS). The members are trained to help individuals deal with tragic incidents as well as stressful incidents=
The team members are selected from the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office, Van Buren County members as well as outside help from the community. This process provides intimate insight of the job and the resolution to protect our protectors. Peer support without judgement.
